Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef ( I prefer chunks of steak)
1 onion, chopped
celery, chopped (I use green pepper)
minced garlic
1 can chili beans
1 can tomato sauce
1 can stewed or diced tomatoes
chili powder
Hot cooked macaroni (optional)
Sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Bottled hot pepper sauce (I like Texas Pete)
Tortilla Chips
Jar of jalapenos
Directions
Cook meat, onion, celery and garlic until meat is brown and onion is tender; drain. Stir in undrained chili beans, tomato sauce, tomatoes, chili powder, and some hot pepper sauce. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 2 hours.
Spoon the chili over the chips or macaroni. Garnish with the shredded cheese, sour cream and jalapenos, and pass some of that Texas Pete over here.
This is chili and if you're like me you like it hot but everyone doesn't so make it mild and add the heat later.
